Well what can I say! Stocksbridge was amazing! Bearing in mind it was Newton Heath’s first open show we all went with open hearts that it would be “experience” rather than trying to win!

Star doing Flyball
As promised, I said that I would keep you informed of Stars progress so here is part two.
Star started his first obedience show in March 2009 at the tender age of 22 months. I took my time with his training ensuring that his motivation in the ring would be my priority. Well it worked I finished 6th in his first Novice class with an entry of 57 dogs, I was on such a high but then what happens next! Would I go up or down?
Well we have done the hard work and the training and now its time to put it into practise!
We have our first open show on Sunday 22nd November. We have all the team going, they are:
Karren with Skye, Amanda with Sandy, Sarah with Greg, Ken with Fly, Tina with Jake and Nic with Sam.

What a good looking bunch!
Sunday 18th October saw the Newton Heath flyball team sponsored by Swellpets meeting at the Rotherham venue for the second day.
We were met with the news that the team had won there four races the previous day so the pressure was on our team and so after discussing tactics the running order was decided as follows Amanda with Holly,

Well, What can I say? Newton Heath flyball teams have now competed for the first time! And boy what a competition!
Here is a little right up on one of our team members called Ken Worrall and his dog Star. Ken is a fantastic dog trainer and has dealt with dogs for many years. He is one of the committee members at Newton Heath DTC and a very good friend. I have attached below acouple of pictures of Star and Fly, who are part of the Flyball Team.

Great News!
Swell Pets have agreed to sponsor Newton Heath DTC new Flyball Team! They have already experienced the rush of their first competition and by all accounts went extremely well!
The team members are
Denise - The one to guide us through
Ken - Definitely the leader
Neil - So far Neil is the one in the know regarding shows and rules
Nic - Also Neil’s other half but we don’t hold that against her

Dog shows illustrate a great way to encourage and reward the breeding of healthy dogs - and also provide a platform for all dog lovers to come together and ensure we give our dogs happy, healthy lives.”

My mum has found a brilliant website that helps us when we are in the car!
Its called http://www.drivingwithdogs.co.uk/home and has all sorts of great walks for when you are going on long journeys. My mum is taking me and Skye on the motorway in August and said we would be in the car for a while so was looking for somewhere for my mum to take us for a walk, anyway this site lets you pick the motorway your going on and then you can check if there are any nice walks! Clever hey?
As you know its that time of year when we should be seeing a lot of sun. Well we have been luckily enough we have had some lately and it has been very hot. There has been the tragic accident of the 2 police dogs left in the car and sadly died and many more reports of dogs collapsing from heat exhaustion.
Hello Everybody
Well I am very excited! My mum, me and Skye are all off the Tatton Park next weekend (19th - 21st June).
Its our clubs show and we cant wait! Newton Heath are holding the show at Tatton Park this year but the venue may change next year, so this could be the last one at Tatton Park.
Well what a weekend I had! Me, Brodie and my mum went off to Catton Hall as Pads were having their show there. It was brilliant! The sun was shinning all weekend and we had a great time! I managed to get 2 rosettes so that pleased my mum. She said it pleased her that much she had to have a drink on Saturday night with the others, we wont talk about that!
Brodie wasnt so good! I heard that when he went to have a go with my mum, he managed to get his collar off and run about in the ring when the other dog was running! Needless to say he didnt get any ice cream!
Anyway, my mum has added these photos for you to have a look at. Oh yes we have to say a special thank you to Dave Bryant from Wilmslow Dog Club that took the photos of me and my mum! We think he did a brilliant job!
Off to Ashbourne this weekend! Cant wait!
Love and woofs

If you have ever lost a pet you know how stressful it can be contacting every place you can think of to try and be reunited again.
There are many organisations that you can contact to help you in your search from free websites to local animal shelters.
Dog Lost is a free service that lets you place notices online. You can also place adverts of dogs you have found.
Just what is happening with the UK weather? They do say you can’t be british and mind the weather but we wish the rain would take a break!
Our canine friends love a towelling down after a walk in the park but this can be tiresome on a twice daily basis. So we have some ideal solutions with these fab funky waterproofs and coats. Click the images for more info.
Many dog food brands produce formulas for individual dog breeds because of their specific dietary requirements.
This is because the diet of a large breed such as a Rottweiler differs from the needs of a smaller dog such as a Yorkshire Terrier. Also some breeds have low energy levels compared to others that are highly active and the food you give your dog should be sufficient for its activity level.

Found in Stalybridge 20th May 2009
This Staffordshire Terrier bitch was found today in the Cockbrook area of Stalybridge.
She wasn’t wearing a collar and we don’t think she is chipped.
She ran excitedly to all passers by as if expecting them to be her owner. She isn’t road wary so we don’t think she is used to being out on her own.
She is very affectionate with humans but not so keen on other dogs.
We all love our fury four legged friends, and yes sometimes we do think of them as our babies! We all know we shouldnt but we do!
Well, if they could send us a mothers day card, maybe it would read something like this
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who have children that are a bit hairier than
others and walk on four paws!
